This page provides answers to the most common questions from parents regarding registration, commitment, and how the league operates.
๐ Registration and Eligibility

| How do I register my child? | Registration is typically done online through our official league website. Look for links on the homepage or under the "Registration" tab.

| What is my child's "League Age"? | Little League International uses an official Age Determination Date (usually August 31st for baseball and January 1st for softball) to determine a player's league age for the season, regardless of their birthday during the season. There are charts on our website to help you determine this.

| What documents do I need to provide? | You may need to submit proof of age (birth certificate) and residency (utility bill, driver's license, etc.) to confirm your child lives or attends school within our league's boundaries.

What are the registration fees and what do they cover?
| Fees cover the cost of the team jersey and hat, visor or socks), field maintenance, umpire fees, insurance, field equipment and administrative costs.

| Can my child play down or up an age division? | Players must be registered in the division corresponding to their official Little League age. Exceptions are rare and require a formal waiver request and board approval.

Season Schedule and Commitment

| When does the season start? | Practices generally begin in February for Spring and September for Fall season. Games typically start in March for Spring and October for Fall.

| How often are practices and games? | Games are played twice a week. The frequency for practices is normally twice a week but also depends on the team manager.
|
| Where are the practices and games held? | All league activities are held at Washington Park. Directions and addresses are available on the website.
|
| What is the rainout policy? | If weather causes a cancellation, the league will notify managers by 3:00 pm. Managers will then notify their teams via the method of their choosing. DO NOT assume a cancellation unless you receive an official notice. If time permits, games may be re-scheduled.

| What is the commitment for the All-Star season? | Players selected for the All-Star team in June/July must be prepared for a significant increase in commitment, including daily practices and tournament travel for several weeks.

| What equipment does my child need? | Each player must have their own glove, bat, batting helmet and baseball/softball pants. Personal bats must comply with the current Little League safety standards (USABat stamp for baseball and USSSA stamp for softball). Facemasks are optional for player safety.

| Are mouthguards or protective cups required? | An athletic supporter and protective cup are highly recommended for all male players in baseball. Mouthguards are optional but encouraged.

| Who do I contact regarding a safety concern or injury? | Report all injuries to your Team Manager immediately. For major safety concerns (field conditions, etc.), contact one of the league's Board Members. |
๐ค Parent and Volunteer Involvement

| How can I volunteer to help the team or the league? | We are a 100% volunteer organization! You can help as a Team Manager, Coach, Team Parent, or by helping with field prep, fundraising, or the snack bar. A volunteer application and background check are required for all positions involving direct contact with players.

| What is a "Team Parent"? | The Team Parent helps the manager with all administrative tasks, such as creating the snack schedule, distributing information, coordinating team parties, and handling team communication.
|
| Do I have to work in the snack bar? | There is a buyout option of $25 cash that must be paid at the beginning of the season. Otherwise you will be requested your Snack Bar duty shift to help fund the league. There is a $40 charge for missed scheduled Snack Bar duty.

| How are managers and coaches selected? | All coaching candidates must fill out an application and pass a mandatory national background check. The league's Board of Directors reviews applications and makes appointments.
